Behind our Name
“Get Capone” was the order given by President Herbert Hoover to the top federal prosecutor in Chicago when Al Capone’s grip on the city in the 1930’s reached new heights of violence and graft. It led to Special Agent Eliot Ness forming his legendary team of agents known as “The Untouchables,” who, through a series of daring raids played a crucial role in bringing down Al “Scarface” Capone. Our guitar player Scott Sroka’s grandfather, Joe Leeson, was one of Eliot Ness’s real-life Untouchables. Get Capone (the band) is inspired by the spirit of teamwork and adventure that drove those Prohibition-era agents.
